
STAFFORD COUNTY — Three adults and three juveniles were injured in an accident Tuesday morning in Stafford County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a pickup driven by 47-year-old James Lee Estes of Castle Rock, Colorado, was westbound on U.S. 50 when his vehicle traveled left of center and struck an eastbound car driven by 36-year-old Juan Carlos Gonzalez-Saldana of Dodge City head-on.
EMS transported Estes to the Stafford County Hospital with minor injuries while Gonzalez-Saldana was taken to a Wichita hospital with serious injuries.
EMS also transported two passengers in the Gonzales-Saldana vehicle. They were 41-year-old Lucia Velez and a 15-year-old girl, both from Dodge City, to the hospital in Pratt. Two additional passengers in the car, a 5-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl, both from Dodge City, were transported to Wesley Medical Center.
The accident happened around 9:40 Tuesday morning, two miles east of St. John.
