
Zora F. Johnson, 91, of Inman, died August 22, 2025, at Pleasant Hills, Hutchinson. Zora was born January 9, 1934, in Howard, Kansas, to G. Bufford and Lillian (Bennitt) McKinney.
Zora attended Elk Falls Rural High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1956 from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia. Zora was a proud life-long teacher. She taught in Conway Springs and Hutchinson and ultimately taught Language Arts in Inman for 33 years.
Zora appreciated reading and obtaining knowledge. She enjoyed working in her yard in her spare time and while indoors would spend time working on crossword puzzles. Zora loved to volunteer and frequently was at Reins of Hope, Dillions Nature Center, and read to students at Obee Elementary.
On June 2, 1957, she married Ronald Johnson in Howard, Kansas. They shared nearly 50 years of marriage before his death on February 21, 2007.
Zora is survived by: children, Ronna Olivier of Manhattan, Rusty Johnson of Inman, and Tracie (Curtis) Johnson of Little River; grandchildren, Nathan (Carrie) Olivier, Robin (Jose) Franco, Rachel (Grant) Watkins, Dakota Olivier, Alexis (Jed) Gunn, Austin Johnson, Elizabeth (Andy) Wills, and Dessirae (Nick) White; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Ron Johnson; daughter-in-law, Vicki Johnson; son-in-law, Mike Olivier; brothers, Martin McKinney and Russell McKinney; and sister-in-law, Evelyn McKinney.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Reverend Linda Mohr officiating. Burial will follow at North Inman Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2025, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel. Friends may sign her book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until service time.
