
Kenneth Robert “Kenny” Conner, 79, died April 14, 2023, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born October 17, 1943, in Pratt, to Harry Ivan and Emily Belle (Carmichael) Conner.
Kenny graduated from Pratt High School. He worked for Reno County Fire District #2, retiring as Captain. After retirement, he worked as a custodian at his church, Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, and as a ticket-taker during the Kansas State Fair. Many individuals will remember Kenny as the gentleman who roller-skated all over Hutchinson. He served in the United States Navy, and was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Burrton.
On June 12, 1999, he married Connie (Krehbiel) Hiebert. She died July 21, 2014.
Kenny is survived by: daughters, Sarah Voran (Aaron) and Dena Christine Conner, all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Matthew Guara, Riley Voran, and Lillie Voran, Gena Gonzales, Jacob Perry, and Josh Perry; great-grandchildren, Dante, Emilee, Jayden, and Ashlyn Gonzales; stepdaughters, Angela Kuhn and Angela Fosdick; stepsons, Chris Hiebert (Rex Cheever) and Glen Eschberger; step-grandchildren, Karole and Abbie; sisters, Carol Sue Jones and Connie Lou Holt (Ron); and sister-in-law, Sandy Conner.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; siblings, Beverly June Rickert, Mary Jane Garten (Glenn), Nellie Faye Jones (Jesse), Michael Edward Conner, William Virgil (Billy) Conner; and brother-in-law, Paul Jones.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary, with the Reverend Mike Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, with military honors conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice House or Hutchinson Local 179 Honor Guard (to benefit the Hutchinson Fire Department), in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
