Loren Leo Morris, 60, passed away on April 1, 2023, in his home, surrounded by family. He was born on March 26, 1963, in Lexington, NE to Leo and Jerry (Smith) Morris.

Loren spent his childhood in Minden, NE. He moved to Kansas to attend college and met Pam Meadows at Faith Mennonite Church in South Hutchinson. They were married on March 7, 1987. Loren was a long-time employee of Hutchinson Community College, serving as the Chief Information Officer until his retirement in 2022.

He enjoyed all outdoor activities including volleyball, hunting, and spending time in “Grandpa’s Woods” with his grandchildren. Loren also enjoyed working on home renovation projects, completing numerous jobs with the help of his sons-in-law. He loved spending time with his family and friends, sharing his wisdom and love of Christ.

Loren is survived by: his wife of 36 years, Pam Morris, Hutchinson; their daughters, Randi Wise and husband, Tyler, Sterling; Robin Slabach and husband, Kendal, Hesston; four grandchildren, Levi (6), Cassidy (3), Jayden (2), and Ellie (2 months); father, Leo Morris, Murdock; brother, Kerry Morris and wife, Judy, Murdock; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Loren will be greatly missed by many.

Loren was preceded in death by: his mother, Jerry Morris; his in-laws, Charles and Gladys Meadows; and several aunts and uncles.

Following a private family burial, a celebration of Loren’s life will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Journey Mennonite at South Hutchinson with Pastor Joshua Haver officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary or with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Journey Mennonite Church, South Hutchinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Hutchinson Community College Endowment or Mennonite Friendship Communities, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
