
Bill M. Barron, 78, of Hutchinson, died January 8, 2026, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was born November 27, 1947, in Wichita, to Raymond E. “Rex” and Marie W. “Billie” (Meyer) Barron.
Bill graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Hutchinson Community College. He served in the United States Army Reserves. Bill was a forklift operator at Cessna/Eaton for over 44 years before retiring. He was an avid hunter and longtime competitive shooter and was a member and president of Rivercreek Gun Club and member of American Rimfire Association. Bill was also a member and former president of Salt City Four Wheelers and McPherson Bass Masters. He also enjoyed classic cars, hot rods, custom motorcycles, and was a member of National Street Rod Association and Goodguys Rod & Custom Association.
On March 22, 1975, Bill married Marjorie D. “Margie” Simmons, in Hutchinson. She survives.
Also surviving are: his daughters, Jayme Phillips of Lyons, Tanya Whitney (Jeremy) of Clearwater, Laci Radke (David) of Arlington; grandchildren, Trinity Phillips, Josy Greer (Kyler), Jayce Wapelhorst (Nick), McKayla Phillips, Brecken Whitney, Jared Whitney, Jake Beck, Ethan Beck, Greg Radke; and great-grandson, Kallum Greer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Judy Farmer.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at CrossPoint Church, 1410 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
