SEDGWICK COUNTY— The Sedgwick County District Attorney announced this week that Brent Wayne McDaniel, 43, of Wichita, has been sentenced to 330 months, the maximum sentence allowed by law, following his conviction on two counts of rape of a child and one count of aggravated indecent solicitation of a child, according to a media release from the DA's office.

Sedgwick County District Court Judge Jeffrey Goering imposed the sentence. The case was prosecuted by Alice Osburn.

McDaniel pleaded no contest to all three counts in March 2026. According to court records, the rapes occurred between November 2016 and December 2017. A third offense, aggravated indecent solicitation of a child, occurred on or about Sept. 28, 2024. The case was investigated by the Haysville Police Department.  All three offenses involved children.  Based on the convictions, Judge Goering ordered McDaniel to register as a sex offender for life and lifetime post-release supervision.
