UNITED WAY OF RENO COUNTY

United Way of Reno County is inviting community members to nominate family, friends, coworkers or neighbors who could use help with outdoor home projects for the  planned Residential Community Work Day, taking place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 8 a.m. to  12 p.m.

This service opportunity brings community volunteers together to assist households with minor outdoor maintenance projects for homeowners across Reno County. Volunteers will lend a hand with  tasks such as yard clean-up, small tree or limb removal, exterior painting, flower bed care, minor fence repair, and other non-structural outdoor work.

Community members are encouraged to nominate someone they know who may need assistance.

Self-nominations are also accepted. Preference will be given to households that include:

  1.  Older adults
  2. Individuals living with disabilities
  3. Lower-income households
  4. ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households
  5. Residents currently experiencing hardship or temporary challenges

“By coming together to lend a hand, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of people in our community,” said Lacey Mills, UWRC CEO. “It’s a powerful way to show what it truly means to be UNITED FOR ALL.”

Nominations can be made by filling out the form found here: https://www.uwrenocounty.org/community-work-day, or by calling the UWRC office at: 620-669-9329.
