HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutch Rec, in collaboration with the Kansas State Fairgrounds, Strataca, the Cosmosphere, Salt City Brewing, the Hutchinson Zoo, and Downtown Hutchinson, announce the 11th annual Smallville Festival taking place June 20-22, 2024.
Residents and visitors are invited to attend this three-day celebration when Hutchinson changes its name to Smallville, hometown of Clark Kent (better known as Superman). The Smallville Festival is a way for our residents and visitors to celebrate what makes small-town living super. This celebration focuses on small-town values that include tradition, hard work, grit, determination, and pride in where we live.
Featured events at this year’s Smallville Festival include:
Thursday, June 20: Third Thursday
Celebrate Smallville during Third Thursday featuring the Smallville Kids Costume Contest. The evening includes various family-friendly and all-ages events and activities throughout Downtown Hutchinson from 6-9 p.m.
Friday, June 21
First Responders Appreciation Lunch at the Reno County Museum, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., FREE for First Responders
Zooperheroes at the Hutchinson Zoo, 6-9 p.m., $10/person
Salt City Brewing Street Concert featuring Logan Mize, 5:30 -11 p.m., $20/ticket
Saturday, June 22
Smallville 5K Underground at Strataca, 8 a.m., $45/person
Smallville’s Amazing Space Race at the Cosmosphere, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., FREE
NaCl Hutch Comic Con at the Meadowlark Building on the Fairgrounds, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., $5/adults, and $30/adult VIP ticket (15 & under FREE with adult)
Downtown Smallville Scavenger Hunt, 1-4 p.m., DCI Park, FREE
Smallville Fair, Food, & Tunes, 4 – 11 p.m., Kansas State Fairgrounds, FREE
