NEWTON, Kan. — The City of Newton announced on April 11, the Newton Substance Abuse Board is seeking applications for grants to fund programs or services.
The grants’ principal purpose is to help fund:
Alcoholism and drug abuse prevention and education.
Alcohol and drug detoxification.
Intervention in alcohol and drug abuse.
Treatment of alcoholism or drug abuse.
The application is available for download online.
The application submission deadline is July 7. Funds will be disbursed Aug. 3.
Funding for the Substance Abuse Board comes from liquor tax revenues allocated through the State’s local alcoholic liquor fund.
