Bernice Lee Davis, died July 8, 2024, at Newton Presbyterian Manor. She was born on December 6, 1930, in Neosho, Missouri, to Harvey and Bertha Morris Van Buren.

She was raised on a dairy farm and graduated from Neosho High School in 1948.

Bernice married John Davis on April 6, 1952. They later divorced. They had two children, Roger Lee and Barbara Jean. Bernice enjoyed bowling and playing cards.

She was a military spouse who eventually resided in Hutchinson, Kansas. She worked at several local convenience stores but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family.

Bernice is survived by: son, Roger (Kim) Davis, Manhattan, KS; daughter, Barbara Armstrong, Wichita, KS; granddaughter, Rebekah Gamble (Jovann); grandson, Zachary Davis; great-grandchildren, Pierce Gamble and Emory Davis; as well as numerous friends.

Bernice is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Wayne Van Buren; and grandson, Mike Armstrong.

A memorial graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Betty Bachman presiding.
