Donald E. “Donnie” Bowman, 81, of Winfield, passed away at 11:15 a.m., Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Select Specialty Hospital in Tulsa. 

Donald Earl Bowman was born on September 16, 1941, 15 minutes after his twin, Ronnie, to Merle Francis and Elma Gladys (Friend) Bowman in Coldwater, Kansas.  As a young boy, he grew up and attended school in Coldwater, where he graduated from Coldwater High School in 1960.

Following high school, Donnie attended Friends University in Wichita, Fort Hays State University and earned his Barber’s license.  For 11 years, Donnie worked as a barber before beginning his career with a pipeline company.  He worked as a welder and lead measurement technician for Panhandle Eastern Company and lived in Guymon, Oklahoma.  In 1998, he retired and moved to Westcliffe, Colorado, where he lived until moving to Winfield in 2008.

He attended the Winfield Nazarene Church.  Donnie loved his family.  His wife’s cooking was always a favorite and one of his last requests was her German Chocolate cake and ice cream.

On October 14, 1962, Donnie and Linda K. Williams were united in marriage at the Assembly of God Church in Coldwater.  She survives of the home.

One daughter – Joyce Latham and her husband, Larry, of Conway, Arkansas

One son – Ashley Bowman of Cleveland, Oklahoma

Three grandchildren – Erik Bowman; Michael Bowman and his wife, Kaitlin; and Jacob Latham and his wife, Leah

Four brothers – His twin, Ronald M. Bowman and his wife, Cathy, of Wichita, Kansas

James Bowman and his wife, Judy, of Topeka, Kansas

Richard Bowman and his wife, Kathy, of Nickerson, Kansas

Robert Bowman and his wife, Barbara, of Hutchinson, Kansas

Three sisters – Dovie Stringer and her husband, Jim, of Hutchinson, Kansas

Lois Hoffman and her husband, Bob, of Wichita, Kansas

Juanita Rumsey and her husband, Roger, of Wichita, Kansas

Two sisters-in-law – Christie Muret and her husband, Joe, of Winfield, Kansas

Julie Miller and her husband, Mike, of Cassoday, Kansas

Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

The memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 17, 2023, at Coldwater Christian Church.  Following cremation, burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater.
