Leanna Louise Baker, 92, of Hutchinson, passed away September 5, 2024 at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson. She was born March 20 1932, in Little River, KS to Levin Nathaniel Swenson and Myrtle Christine (Clay) Swenson.
Leanna worked at the Dillon’s bakery at 14th and Main and Northgate. She loved gospel, country, and bluegrass music, and performed in the “Baker Country” band, played in local nursing homes and retirement centers. Leanna also enjoyed RVing in her later years, spending several winters in Texas. She was of the Christian faith and attended various area churches.
Leanna is survived by her children: Cheryl Treinen of Auburn, Douglas Becker of Hutchinson, Kathie Wittorff (Larry) of Derby, Brad Becker (Jane Anne) of Derby; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; stepchildren, Ronnie, Darwin, Angela, Tom, Dayla; and many step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Debbie Goering; son in-laws, James Apps and Robert Treinen; stepson in-law, Duane Wright.
Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday through Monday, at Elliott Mortuary. Family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7p.m. Monday, September 9, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in the Buhler Municipal East Cemetery, 14842 E. 82nd Ave, Buhler, with Pastor Craig Watke officiating.
