HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County Administrator Randy Partington has a new contract. Reno County Commissioners will take action on the new agreement as part of the consent agenda on Tuesday.
Under the new one-year agreement, Partington will see a pay increase from $144,220 to $154,500.
Also Tuesday, the commission will look over some proposed changes to the RCAT bus routes. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, ridership has been lower than in the years prior to 2020. In response, RCAT made temporary fixed route modifications during the shutdown.
The bus service has been able to maintain the amount of service needed by the community without operating excessive deadhead distances. The modifications have been in effect for nearly two years. Now, RCAT wants to make those route revisions permanent.
The proposed restructure changes target areas with the most demand at this time and will provide better service to passengers. KDOT has reviewed and approved the proposed fixed routes. After approval by the Board of County Commissioners, the changes will be publicized and there will also be a 30-day period to allow public comment before implementation.
Tuesday’s Reno County Commission meeting begins at 9 a.m. at the Reno County Annex.
