
WICHITA, Kan. — The Wichita Wizards (5-2) returned to Friends University for the first day of a two-game homestand Saturday.
Wichita jumped out to an 8-2 advantage before the Program Select Missouri Bulldogs (0-3) took a brief 9-8 lead.
A Parker Austin swat on defense led to his layup on the offensive end.
Kaelon Gary's three with 5:45 left in the first quarter put Wichita up 15-11 and the Wizards never looked back.
The Wizards used 14 Kaelon Gary points, 13 from Parker Austin and 12 from Jeremiah May to take a 53-43 halftime lead.
That lead swelled to 20 after three quarters.
With a little under six minutes remaining in the contest, the Wizards went up 91-66 and made the curtain call for starters.
May led the Wizards with 25 points, while Gary provided an 18-point, 15-rebound double-double.
Austin finished with 16 points.
Curtis Profit Junior dropped 13 points and pulled down 12 boards.
The Wizards shot 43% from the field, but just 19% from deep.
Robert Galvin led the Bulldogs with 33 points.
Program Select Missouri shot just 30% from the field and a mere 15% from distance.
The Wizards return home Sunday, June 4, to take on the Fort Riley Big Red One.
Doors open at 1, tipoff is set for 2 p.m. in the Garvey Center on the Friends University campus.
