It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father, Robert J. Jones, Jr.
Bob was born on June 28, 1954, in Enid, Oklahoma and grew up in Hutchinson, Kansas where he shared many childhood memories with fellow schoolmates. Later, he moved to Texas and established a family. He lived there for over 30 years.
Bob loved landscaping and made that part of his career in Parks and Recreation. He also enjoyed anything Harley Davidson and had daily jam sessions with his record player.
Bob retired in 2019 and moved to South Carolina where he became a full-time grandpa and lived every moment for his granddaughter who was the joy of his life.
Bob is survived by his better half, Virginia Nancy Otieno; son, Jonas K. Jones; daughter, Candace M. Valadez and her husband, Kris Jr.; and his cherished granddaughter, Olivia, Jayne Valadez. He is also survived by his two sisters, Terri Main and Judy Vanlandingham and their spouses.
Bob carried much wisdom and advice. He enjoyed sharing his life by helping provide lessons and guidance to those he cared for deeply. His laughter and heart will be truly missed.
The memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast.
If desired, donations made be made directly to the family to assist with expenses at this time.
