
Donald J. “Don” Haesemeyer, 94, died November 30, 2024, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. He was born January 26, 1930, in rural Sylvan Grove, to Ed and Ella (Kasiska) Haesemeyer.
Don graduated from Sylvan Grove High School and Salt City Business College. He spent his career working for Dillons and Kwik Shop as an accountant and auditor. Don was a life-long member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson.
On September 4, 1949, he married Norma H. Persigehl, in Hutchinson. She died December 3, 1998, after they shared almost 50 years of marriage. He later married Wilma Miller. She died January 5, 2020.
Don is survived by: children, Donna Kocher of Hutchinson, Dr. Allan Haesemeyer (Terry) of Shell Lake, WI, and Brenda Dobson of Hutchinson; sisters, Aileen Thouvenelle and Eloise Haesemeyer; brother, Larry Haesemeyer; grandchildren, Kelly Kocher, Alexandria Broz, Aaron “Sam” Haesemeyer, Abe Haesemeyer, Derek Dobson, and Matt Dobson (Katelyn); two great-granddaughters, Calloway Kocher and Camaro Long (Kyle); and one great-great-granddaughter, Winifred Long.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda Belden (Gary); and brother, Wayne Haesemeyer.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E. 12th, Hutchinson, with Pastors Quentin Nuttmann and Henry Blickhahn officiating. Inurnment will take place in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
