The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Saturday for much of Kansas.

Some spots could get six inches or more of snow, but there will be a sharp fall off on the eastern edge of the snowfall, depending on where that exactly lies.

Travel will be difficult in the warned area. Road conditions will become miserable by mid-day and travel should be discouraged in the afternoon and evening. The latest models have the heaviest snow bands along Highway 50.
If traveling, consider departing your destination before the snow starts, or delaying your departure until the snow ends. Snow onset should happen not long before sunrise Saturday and end by about midnight.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 511.
