HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Entries are still being taken for this year’s Salty Dog and Salty Pup Triathlon in Hutchinson.
This year’s event will be held Saturday, Aug 6th at 7 a.m. at Carey Park. Once again there will be the Salty Pup for participants under age 13 and the Salty Dog for those 13 and over. Teams can also be formed with one member doing one discipline each.
The event distance is a 400-meter swim at Salt City Splash Aquatic Center; a 10.5-mile bike (5 loops) around Carey Park Golf Course, and a 5K run along the Jim Martinez Trail.
The Event is chip-timed and on a closed course inside Carey Park. All finishers receive medals and are eligible for age-group awards. Packet pick-up information and the timeline will be provided prior to race week via social media and participant email.
Entry fee for the Salty Pup is $35 through Aug. 4 and $40 after that. Entry fee for the Salty Dog is $55 through Aug. 4 and $60 after that. If you need any more information contact Hutch Rec at 620-663-6179 or go to hutchrec.com and click on events and then race series.
