Betty I. Galloway  |1924-2022|

Betty I. Galloway, 98, died August 28, 2022, at Pleasant Hills, Hutchinson.  She was born June 28, 1924, at home in Arma, to Arnold Truman and Emma Irene (McGraw) Gude.

Betty graduated from El Dorado High School and attended El Dorado Junior College while working at McClellens and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.

On July 20, 1946, she married LeRoy Galloway, at the First Baptist Church, El Dorado.  They moved to Hutchinson in 1953, and became members of Trinity United Methodist Church. 

Betty served as a Girl Scout Leader and Girl Scout Day Camp Director.  She was employed by J.S. Dillon and Sons at the 14th and Main store from 1961-1971.

Betty was preceded in death by:  her parents; husband, LeRoy, twin children, son, Richard “Ricky” Galloway, and daughter, Brenda Galloway; and a sister, Joyce Frazey.

She is survived by:  daughters, Lynn Booth, Brona La Force, Diana Fromong, and Denise Galloway, all of Hutchinson; sister, June Hightower of Mascouth, IL; grandchildren, Tama La Force, Tara La Force, Shannon Edwards, Grady Edwards, Josh Galloway, and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2022, at Sunset Lawns Cemetery, 2100 Sunset Road, El Dorado, with the Reverend Michael Tomson-DeGreeff officiating.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
