
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Formal charges have been filed against Hutchinson man in a domestic case.
Thirty-seven-year-old Robert Michael is charged with one count of attempted second degree murder stemming from a domestic disturbance July 23rd. The charge is a level 3 person felony which carries a sentence of up to 41 years if convicted, depending on his criminal history.
Michael was arrested after police were dispatched to an address just east of Hutchinson after a neighbor reported a female with facial injuries in front of a residence. The neighbor also reported the female was ushered back inside by a male.
Upon arrival on scene, officers observed the male and female inside but they would not answer the door. Officers had to force entry into the residence. Through the investigation, it was determined the female had injuries consistent with being strangled.
Michael remains jailed on a bond of $250,000. His case will now move to the status docket where a preliminary hearing will be set.
