John Allen Snell, 67, died Tuesday March 14, 2023) after a battle with cancer at his home in Hutchinson.
He was born on August 4, 1955 at U.S. Naval Air Facility, Port Lyauttey, French Morocco, to Loren and Dixie Elam Snell.
On October 23, 1980, he married Judy Anderson and adopted her daughter, Sherri. They later divorced.
An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, he passed that love of football to his daughter. Holding season tickets for many years, he also shared that fandom with many friends and family.
Later in life he became an animal lover, adopting many dogs and cats. His fur babies were loved very much.
He is survived his daughter Sherri (Nick) Schneider; grandchildren Brecken and Holden all of Haven; sister Bobbie Rogers of Newton, Jody Levene, Anna Snell Fay; step-mother Mary Smith all of Hutchinson; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. John is also survived by his house mate Elizabeth Hahn and dear friend Cindy Williamson.
John is preceded in death by his parents; sister Mona “Pinky” White; and brothers Loren D. Snell and Loren R. Snell.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
