HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A community event focused on mental health awareness and connection is set for this Saturday at Carey Park Skatepark in Hutchinson.
The Mental Health Taskforce is inviting residents to take part in a Mental Health Awareness Walk beginning at 9 a.m., followed by the SkateMind meetup at noon. The midday event is open to both skateboarders and rollerbladers, offering a welcoming space for participants of all skill levels.
Organizers say the event is designed to bring people together, encourage open conversations about mental health, and promote overall well-being in a supportive, community-centered environment.
Families are encouraged to attend, and the event is open to all ages. Participants can also bring their pets along for the day’s activities.
Event organizers emphasize the importance of reducing stigma around mental health and creating opportunities for connection.
