
Howard Bill Jackson, 95, passed away April 9, 2023, at Good Samaritan Society-Hutchinson Village. He was born April 27, 1927, in Wichita, KS, to Howard Leslie Jackson and Edith Marie (Stone) Jackson.
Bill was a graduate of Hutchinson High School. His parents founded Jackson Frozen Food, Inc. in 1946, and he began working in the store. Bill purchased the company from his parents in 1960 and worked in the family-owned business until he sold it to his son in 1995.
He enjoyed fishing and bowling. Bill loved to go camping and would load up his motorhome and head for a campground in the area or to travel to Colorado for an extended stay. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson, KS, and was actively involved in the activities of the church, such as being an usher or driving the church vehicles for various activities and services.
On November 25, 1949, Bill married Rosella Joy Friesen in Hutchinson, KS. They shared over 63 years of marriage, prior to her death on February 18, 2013.
He is survived by: his children, Michael (Robin) Jackson of Hutchinson, KS, Sherry Heim of Topeka, KS, and Janice (Jerry) Green of Hutchinson, KS; grandchildren, Kimberly (Brad) Vining, Stefanie (Jeremy) Kempke, Michael (Kirsten) Green, Sarah (Aaron) Keller, Douglas (Staci) Jackson, Matthew Jackson, Samuel Heim, Jack (Alexa) Heim, and Erin (Monica) Heim; eleven great-grandchildren; and sister-in–law, Hazel (Joe) Stevinson of Blue Springs, MO.
Bill was preceded in death by: his parents; wife; daughter, Joni Joy Jackson Heim; infant son, Mark Allen Jackson; sister, Betty Walker; and brother, Robert Jackson.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary, with Pastor Kent Pedersen officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April, 13, 2023, with the family present from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. The funeral service will be livestreamed beginning at 12:45 p.m. on the Elliott Mortuary website.
