Roy Norman Rusk, 94 of Hutchinson Kansas died March 20, 2025, at Hospice House of Hutchinson. Born August 20, 1930, in Middletown Ohio, he was the son of Cash and Katherine (Kate) Garrett Rusk.
On November 2, 1951, Roy married Mary Frances Cramer at Camp Stewart Georgia while serving in the United States Army. (1951-1953) They were married 63 years until her death in 2015. He worked for Western & Southern Life insurance Company for 30 years then was Executive Director of South Hutchinson Public Housing. Roy was a member of First Congregational Church and American Legion Post 68. He also worked for several years at the Kansas State Fair as Ticket Supervisor. A Die-Hard Chicago Cubs Fan and Purdue Boilermakers fan enjoyed watching sports.
Survivors include daughter, Kay Beth (Edwin) Woods; son, John Allen (Kathy) Rusk, both of Hutchinson; sister, Mary Jo Livengood of Lafayette, Indiana; sister-in-law, Donna Cunningham of Mellott, Indiana; grandchildren, Heather (Chris) Decker of Lake Woods Ranch, Florida, Corrie (Bob) Morrison of Hico, Texas, Jennifer (Jeremmy) Hoard of Hutchinson, Christy (Keith) Gable of Hutchinson and Steven Garrett (Jenni) Rusk of Olathe Kansas and 13 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, five brothers Cash Jr., William, Richard, Thomas, David and sister Patricia.
Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Thursday March 27, 2025, at First Congregational Church, 3410 N. Plum Hutchinson, Ks. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday March 25, 2025, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel 300 East 30th Ave. Hutchinson.
