Hutchinson CC Sports Information
The Hutchinson Community College men's basketball team dropped three spots to No. 8 in the latest NJCAA Division I national rankings released on Tuesday.
The Blue Dragons, now 17-2 overall after Monday's 118-103 victory over Independence, lost its only game in the last rankings period. Monday's win is part of the current rankings period.
Hutchinson lost a wild 132-127 shootout to Garden City in its only game last week. The game was the highest combined single scoring game in Blue Dragon history.
The Blue Dragons fell from No. 5 to No. 8, one of four Top 10 teams to ground in the latest rankings. Kilgore, Collin County and Chipola were the other Top 10 teams to slip in the rankings.
Now 20-0, Salt Lake remains No. 1 in the rankings. John a Logan is second, followed by Northwest Florida State, Kilgore and Indian River State.
Dodge City jumped up four spots to No. 6 to be the highest-ranked Jayhawk Conference team. Dodge City and Hutchinson are 2 of 4 KJCCC teams in the Top 25. Colby dropped one spot to No. 23 and Butler fell seven slots to No. 25. Garden City is receiving votes.
The Blue Dragons have been ranked for nine consecutive weeks.
