WYANDOTTE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating after a police officer was injured early Tuesday during an investigation.
Just after 2a.m., officers responded to disturbance at a home in the 600 block of Stewart Avenue, according to Kansas City, Kansas Police.
When officers arrived at the residence, they encountered several individuals involved in the disturbance. While officers were attempting to obtain statements, one of the individuals fled the scene in a vehicle, striking one of the responding officers who was on foot.
The officer was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and vehicle were located a short time later in Kansas City, Missouri.
The driver was taken into custody by the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department. Police released no additional details.
