
Vicki Marie Wineland, 81, died peacefully in her sleep February 2, 2025, at her home. She was born April 2, 1943, in Osborne County, Kansas, to Vinton and Dulcie (Smith) Lane.
Vicki graduated from Osborne High School in 1961 and Sidney’s Hairdressing College in 1962. A dedicated and talented hairstylist, she opened Vic’s Beauty Shop, where she cared for her clients with skill and kindness for over 50 years. Vicki found joy in gardening and took great pride in decorating for special occasions at church. She was a devoted leader in Reno County 4-H, Sandhill Saddle Club, 10th Avenue United Methodist Church, and Union Valley Bible Church. Above all, she cherished time spent with family and friends and lived each day with unwavering faith, love, and dedication.
On August 12, 1962, Vicki married Edward “Ed” W. Wineland, in Osborne. They shared over 62 years of marriage. He survives.
Also surviving are: her daughter, Shelli Wineland (Doug Dalton) of Cincinnati, OH; grandson, William Wineland Dalton, of Cincinnati, OH; granddaughter, Barbara Bentley Dalton, of Cincinnati, OH; sisters, Sherrie Bohlen of Hutchinson; Janet Flegg of Wichita; and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Candace Wineland; brothers-in-law, Dean Bohlen and Peter Flegg.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2024, at Union Valley Bible Church, 1916 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson. The service will be livestreamed on the church’s website https://www.unionvalleybiblechurch.com. Vicki’s wishes were to be cremated.
Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday thru Friday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Friday at Union Valley Bible Church, 1916 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vicki Wineland Memorial Fund (payable to Elliott Mortuary) to benefit faith ministries Vicki supported, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
