HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson High School’s business students want to start one of their own inside Hutchinson High School. During Monday’s meeting the school board will go over the proposal for the Salthawk Store. The store will be a student run store at the high school that will contain booster club items plus other items.

It will be an apparel/merchandise store. Students from the business department will run it. The store will be located at the old ISPED office/lounge in A hall.

The proposal calls for a separate walk-up entrance so students and the public can purchase Salthawk items. Students, staff and Travis Booe (Booster Club President) have been involved in the planning. The group voted to name the store Sammy's Shack.

Also tonight the board will go over several equipment purchases and go into executive session to further discuss the ongoing negotiations with the teachers union on a new contract for next year.

Monday’s meeting of the USD 308 Board begins at 6 p.m. at the USD 308 Administration Center at 1520 N. Plum.
