HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Airport Manager Pieter Miller told Hutch Post Wednesday that the date for the airport stakeholders meeting asked for by the City Council after hearing from the consultant who did a business and organizational plan earlier this year has been set.
According to Miller, "The City Council has an special meeting planned for 5:30 p.m. on June 6th with myself and airport stakeholders."
Mayor Jon Richardson had asked for that meeting to be held so that if there is any low hanging fruit the city can do to help those that are already invested in the airport, that those investments are considered first.
One of the report's recommendations is that the city establish an Airport and Aviation Department within the organizational structure and financial budget of the City and to reclassify the Airport Manager as Aviation Director, reporting directly to the City Manager.
