Hollis Lavonda Cochran, 63, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS.
Lavonda was born on July 17, 1960, in Parma, MO, the daughter of Charles F. Kerr and Ruth P. (Ford) Mendenhall. On November 14, 1998, she married Fred Cochran in South Hutchinson, KS.
Lavonda graduated from Burrton High School in 1979 and attended Hutchinson Community College and graduated with an associate’s degree in nursing. Lavonda enjoyed planting a variety of plants and flowers in her gardens, and spending time with her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruth; stepfather, Keith Mendenhall; husband, Fred; brother, Scott Redger; and nephew, Thorne Redger.
Lavonda is survived by her three children, Charles Brandon (Krystal) Meyer, Jeremy N. Meyer, Lacy D. (Damon) Grayson; brothers, Johnny Ford, Dennis (Leslie) Redger; sister, Sonja (Russ) Hammer; grandchildren, Devin, Kaden, Jayd, Cassadie, Alexis, Landen, Audriana, Riley, Mason and Mya.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor Joel Grizzle officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will take place in Burrton Cemetery, Burrton, KS. Memorials may be given to American Diabetes Foundation and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
