HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Siemens Gamesa will release its third quarter earnings overnight U.S. time.

The numbers could be down again as the world's No. 1 wind turbine maker announced it expects lower results than anticipated. It would be the second straight quarter of less-than-positive news.

In the second quarter, Siemens Gamesa ended the first half of the fiscal year $64 million in the red.

It wasn't all bad news as revenues rose by 6% on the year and the company continues to see a record order log for the coming year at $6.6 billion, more than double compared to the numbers at the same time last year.

Siemens Gamesa will try to make that large order book turn into results for both onshore and offshore projects. Siemens Gamesa employs around 400 people at the nacelle plant in Hutchinson. The company recently announced it was closing two plants in its home country of Spain as it looked to cut costs.
