HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Kansas State Fair has made its run and now it's time to look over the past ten days.

“I think overall everyone was extremely happy with everything,” GM Bryan Schulz said. “ We had great entertainment, great food, we had great things going on the grounds that kept people occupied while they were here.”

While there were some holes in some areas where vendors decided to skip this year there were other areas that excelled well beyond expectations.

“We did talk to the carnival yesterday. They said that  2019 was a record for them and had said this year will even break that record,” Schulz said. “Our attendance at the concert was...very good. And again, I think there were so many opportunities for people to come out and just get out and about.”

The fair staff wont have long to get the grounds cleaned up as another major event comes to the grounds.

“Obviously this week is clean up week and try to get the grounds back in place because we do have the Junior Livestock (Show) coming in here shortly,” Schulz said. “We will be sitting down as a team to start looking at next year. The good that happened this year, maybe there were some holes that happened that we can make sure get filled.

The official attendance numbers for the fair won't be known for a few days but Schulz did say that the last Saturday of the fair likely surpassed 50,000.
