Document shredding event coming to Hutchinson, Newton

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson and Newton will once again take part in the annual document shredding event provided by the attorney general’s office. The two cities are among 10 that will provide the free service the week of March 7.

Shredding will be available in Hutchinson on Thursday, March 10, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Kansas State Fairgrounds. Those wanting to drop off documents can enter off of gate three at 23rd and Main.

The drop-off event in Newton will be Tuesday, March 8, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Chisholm Trail Shopping Center located at 601 SE 36th St.

Consumers are asked to limit their documents for destruction to three small bags or boxes. Documents will be securely transported to the shredding facility for safe destruction by certified shredding companies. The event is held in conjunction with National Consumer Protection Week.
