HUTCHINSON, Kan. — As Blue Dragon fans make their plans for the NJCAA National Semifinal football game to be held Saturday Dec. 3 at Gowans Stadium at 2 p.m., it's important to note that they will need to go through the national office to get their tickets.
"The links and stuff are already up for the semifinal game," Gooch said. "It's $15 advance or $18 at the gate, so you can catch a little break by purchasing your ticket ahead of time. All seating is general admission. There's no reserved seating. For those that have bought reserved seating, my recommendation is to get in line early, walk in and go sit in the seats that you normally have."
It's a matchup between two Kansas teams, so as long as the weather is good, the crowd should be good, too.
"All the money that the NJCAA makes off the semifinal games goes into a pool to offset the costs of the teams that have to travel," Gooch said. "Coffeyville, which isn't a large travel, it will help offset the cost of their travel. Iowa Western is playing NW Mississippi in the other semifinal. Iowa Western has quite a bit bigger travel. It will cost them a pretty penny to travel."
The winners of the semifinal matchups will go to Arkansas for the championship game on Wednesday, December 14.
"It's Wednesday, December 14 at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, Arkansas," Gooch said. "That's the same site where we won our first national championship a couple years back. We would leave early, a couple days early. I think there's a banquet tied to the game. It's an 8 p.m. kickoff. It will be on ESPNU."
Hutchinson came out on top 14-9 in their meeting with the Red Ravens in Coffeyville on Sept. 24.
