Roma “Dee Dee” Scherer, 85, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Pine Village. She was born October 31, 1937 in Goessel, Kansas, the daughter of Carl and Martha (Epp) Schmidt.
She graduated from Goessel High School.
Dee Dee was an artist, often painting landscapes. She loved to travel to the Taos and Santa Fe area.
She was united in marriage to James A. “Jim” Scherer on July 20, 1956 in Newton. He preceded her in death on November 5, 2012.
Dee Dee is survived by her daughters, Susan (Roger) Boesker, and Jackie (Randy) Regier of McPherson; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Vera (Willis) Koehn of Hesston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, LaVonne Irva Schmidt.
Cremation is planned with a private family burial to take place later at McPherson Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to McPherson County Food Bank or First Baptist Church of McPherson in care of Moundridge Funeral Home, PO Box 410, Moundridge, KS 67107.
