KINGMAN COUNTY — Two people were injured in an accident just after 9 a.m. Wednesday in Kingman County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Buick Encore, driven by Joseph Richard Douze, 59, Miami, Florida, was westbound on the eastbound shoulder of U.S. 54, two and one-half miles east of Kingman.
A 2016 Chevy Cruz driven by Frances Claire Bowman, 82, Garden Plain, was eastbound in the eastbound lane of the highway.
Douze attempted an evasive maneuver and the Buick struck the Chevy head-on.
EMS transported Douze to the hospital in Kingman and Bowman to Wesley Medical Center. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
