🏀 WBB: Dragons turn in another strong performance at home

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Dragons (16-4, 10-4) remained perfect at home by holding Cloud County (10-9, 6-7) to 33.3% shooting, including 22.7% from three.

Meanwhile, the Dragons hit 36% of their three-point attempts and got 20 points from the bench.

Tor'e Alford led the scoring attack again, this time with 17 points on 6 of 11 shooting. She grabbed seven rebounds and dished out four assists.

Mel Kailahi (16) and Kalyn Ervin (14) were the only other starters to score in double figures. Mya Williams was held to just nine points on 1 of 14 shooting. 

Hutchinson got a big boost from freshman center Chanteese Craig, who appeared for just the third time this season. Craig came off the bench and scored 11 points while adding six rebounds. 

Te Araroa Sopoanga and Rori Cox each scored 20 for Cloud County. Cox also had 12 rebounds and four assists.

FINAL: Hutchinson 79 Cloud County 59

Hutchinson averaged 79.5 points the last two outings and surrendered an average of 54.

The men's game in Pratt Saturday has been postponed. The women will travel to Pratt Saturday for a 2 p.m. tipoff. The men's game will be rescheduled.
