HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A large number of households along West 24th Avenue went without water service for several hours Wednesday after a major water main break.&nbsp;

According to Public Works, the water main break was at the intersection of North Adams Street and West 24th on the southwest corner of the intersection. About 44 homes along 24th Avenue between Adams and Monroe were without service until the line could be repaired later in the day.
