WBB: No. 25 Dragons fall in OT

COFFEYVILLE, Kan. — The Dragons fell behind 7-1 early on the road Wednesday night and found themselves in foul trouble. Five Dragons escaped the contest with four fouls each. 

Despite the early deficit and trailing by as many as eight, No. 25 Hutchinson (10-3, 4-3) trailed by just one at the break. 

Coffeyville (11-2, 5-2) scored 21 points in the third frame to take a 48-41 advantage.

The Dragons fell behind by 12 with 4:31 to play, but outscored the Red Ravens 16-4 to close out regulation. With 0.4 left, Mel Kailahi's putback tied the score at 59.

In overtime, Dariauna Carter broke the 61-all tie with a three. The basket came with 11.7 seconds left. Hutchinson needed to answer from distance, but got a two at the buzzer. 

FINAL: Coffeyville 64 Hutchinson 63

Hutchinson is now 1-3 on the road this season. 

Faith Simpson had 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Red Ravens. 

Carter led Coffeyville with 15 points. 

Kalyn Ervin hit three triples and led Hutchinson with 21 points. 

Mya Williams was held to 13 points.
