MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Chamber of Commerce will be announcing their 70th E-Loan recipient in July.

The McPherson Chamber recently received the E-Community Loan Activity Award at the 2023 NetWork Kansas Annual Retreat for the highest number of E-Loans distributed. The McPherson Chamber of Commerce is a partner of NetWork Kansas and administers the McPherson County Entrepreneurship Community program.

Since 2012, the McPherson County E-Community Loan Program has approved 69 low interest loans. The recipient of the 70th E-Loan represents over $2.6 million dollars invested in the McPherson community. These investments include many added jobs and growth over the years.

Through the McPherson Chamber’s E-Community partnership, they have limited access to low interest loans and resources to assist entrepreneurs with gap financing in McPherson County. Funds are flexible and can be used for a variety of business purposes, including startup costs, purchasing an existing business, business expansion, working capital, inventory, and more.

In addition to financing, local businesses and youth have also benefited from business education programs. The McPherson Chamber has facilitated a yearly Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge event (YEC) since 2018 and has offered various entrepreneurial programs since 2012 including: the Ice House Program, Growing Rural Businesses, Destination Bootcamp, and the Maker Space Boot Camp.

As a NetWork Kansas Entrepreneurship Community, the McPherson Chamber is committed to cultivating an entrepreneurial environment by identifying and developing resources to help local entrepreneurs start or grow businesses.
