James 'Jim' Alan Ledin |1957-2025|

James “Jim” Alan Ledin, 68, died December 15, 2025, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. He was born April 4, 1957, in Moline, IL, to Charles Roger and Lillian Ruth (Hauge) Ledin.

Jim graduated from Junction City High School in 1976 and earned his associates degree from Hutchinson Community College in 2000. Shortly after graduating high school, he joined the Army National Guard, proudly serving his country and retiring after 36 years.

With his skills as a handyman, Jim stayed busy with projects around his house. In his younger years, with his son, Matthew in the Boy Scouts, Jim made sure he was present at every event. Together they shared invaluable life lessons, created memories and a strong father and son bond.

Jim was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. He looked forward to attending church and seeing his church family always made him happy.

On December 26, 1982, he married Betsy Lou Davis, in Hutchinson. They shared over 37 years of marriage, prior to her death on March 7, 2020.  

Jim is survived by: his son, Matthew Ledin of Hutchinson, KS; brothers, Karl (Carol) Ledin of Hutchinson, KS and Jon Ledin of Kansas City, KS; grandchildren, Wylen Ledin and Arabella Griffen; and brother-in-law, Henry Cline.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Betsy; sister, Kathy Cline; parents; and children, Donovan, Mark, and Jennifer Ledin.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 21st, 2026 at Zion Lutheran Church, 1017 N. Washington St, Hutchinson. Inurnment will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22nd, 2026, at East Side Cemetery, Hutchinson. Military Honors will be conducted by the Kansas Army National Guard.  

Friends may sign his memorial book Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 20th, 2026, at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church or Alzheimer’s Association, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
