HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson City Council will go over a lease agreement with the Kansas State Fair for land that will be used for the new fire station along Main Street when they meet Tuesday.

The city entered into a 99-year lease agreement for the current fire station in 1951. The new agreement will allow the fire department to vacate the current property at 20th and Main and move to the new location at 23rd and Main. The lease will be for 99 years at a cost of $1 per year. The proposed lease has already been approved by the fair board.

Also Tuesday, the council will take action on a recommendation to raze two buildings at 2100 S. Bonebrake. The property has been a part of numerous discussions by the council and the building department. The property has been rundown for years and although the owners have made repeated promises to make repairs to the structures nothing has happened.

Finally the council will go over a bid for some paving maintenance for the airport, the sports arena parking lot and the Jim Martinez trail.

Tuesday’s meeting of the Hutchinson City Council begins at 9 a.m. at the Hutchinson city offices.
