WYANDOTTE COUNTY —The Kansas  City, Kansas fire department has identified and made contact with the Good Samaritan they were looking for in connection with a crash and fire.

On March 5, Kansas City, Kansas fire department crews responded to a motor vehicle accident on northbound Interstate 435 at State Avenue, near the State Avenue exit ramp, where a van struck a bridge pillar and caught fire.

Before crews arrived, a Good Samaritan pulled the driver from the burning vehicle. Their actions undoubtedly saved that person’s life.

The individual left the scene before fire crews were able to get their name.

This week, the KCK Fire department asked for  help in identifying this person so they can properly thank them for their life-saving actions.

"At this time, the Good Samaritan has chosen to remain anonymous — and we respect that. Thank you to everyone who  helped us make that connection."
