Carol June Gellinger, 85, passed away March 22, 2023, at Pinnacle Park, Salina, KS. She was born September 15, 1937, in Quincy, WV, to Elwood F. Thornton and Gertrude S. (Stewart) Thornton.
Carol was a 1955 graduate of Dupont High School, Belle, WV. She worked in the accounting office at Eaton Corporation, retiring in 1998 with over 30 years of service. Carol was a member of the New Life Christian Church, Hutchinson, KS.
On October 16, 1959, she married Kenneth Dean Gellinger, in Quincy, WV. They shared over 63 years of marriage.
Carol is survived by: her husband, Kenneth Gellinger of Salina, KS; sons, Todd (Barbara) Gellinger of Magna, UT, and Tony (Tina) Gellinger of Minneapolis, KS; four grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Bowe of Sebring, FL; and Franklin (Sue) Thornton of East Palestine, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Fairlawn Burial Park, 2401 Carey Blvd, Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor John Frey officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2023, with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, at Elliott Mortuary.
