Keith Aaron Wright, 83, of Hutchinson, died May 6, 2023, at Prairie Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie. He was born October 21, 1939, in Dodge City, to James Henry and Jessie Mae (Schofield) Wright.
Keith graduated from Cheyenne County High School, St. Francis, KS, in 1958. He also graduated from Wichita Business College.
From 1960 to 1968, Keith worked as an accountant at Embee- Hammond in Wichita. Then from 1968 to 1995, he worked for Kansas Gas Service and Westar Energy in Hutchinson.
Music was a large part of Keith’s life. He enjoyed singing, and he could play most any string instrument, with the guitar being his favorite. Keith loved to play all types of music- from rock and roll to gospel to country music on his guitar. In addition, he could also play the bass drum and trumpet. Keith was an avid KU basketball fan and a faithful member of First Congregational Church, Hutchinson.
On June 2, 1962, he married Judith “Judy” Dianne Odil, in Wichita.
Keith is survived by: his loving wife, Judy Wright; son, James “Jim” Wright; granddaughter, Bridget Wright; great-grandson, Joshua Kuhr; brother, David (Jenny) Wright; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; three sisters; two brothers; and parent-in-laws.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023, at First Congregational Church, 3410 N. Plum St. Hutchinson, with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Gentiva Hospice, Prairie Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie, or First Congregational Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
