HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Donna Davis with BrightHouse said the Stuff the Bus in person event was a great success.
"We were at Dillons Marketplace," Davis said. "We got to talk with over 1000 people. I know that, because we gave out over 1000 flyers to people who came in to shop. The flyers we gave out had a little bit about BrightHouse and they had a shopping list. We asked people to pick up something for us for the safe shelter house."
The amount that the community gave was amazing.
"I just talked to the shelter house manager," Davis said. "She thinks we have enough laundry soap, peanut butter, coffee, tuna, those kinds of things, to last us until nearly this time next year. We received some cash. We received some Dillons cards. It just goes to show how generous people are in our community."
Davis even said that there were a couple of people who asked BrightHouse for help at the event itself. Listen to our conversation with Donna Davis on how BrightHouse is serving those victimized by sexual and domestic violence and the community as a whole below.
