RENO COUNTY —Three people were injured in an accident just after 5 p.m. Monday in Reno County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2017 Mazda CX5 driven by Alexa Rae Schaffter,32, Arlington, was westbound on U.S. 50 at Dean Road.
The driver was unable to see due the sun. The SUV rear-ended a 2016 Nissan Frontier driven by Tina Louise Kastning, 66, Fall River, who was slowing to make a right turn.
EMS transported Kastning and two passengers in the the pickup identified as Mary Gingerich, 59, and Herman D. Gingerich, 58, both of Ohio, Kansas, to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Schaffter was not injured. All four were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
