Clinton Dean Brown, 85 of Hutchinson, died June 10, 2026. He was born September 10, 1940, in Tescott, to Vaughn E. and Opal M. (Briggs) Brown.

Clinton graduated from Bennington High School in 1958. He served in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1988, where he was an aviation mechanic on seaplanes and retired as Master Chief Aircraft Maintenanceman. Clinton earned his Eagle Scout rank; he was the neighborhood Scoutmaster for a local scout troop in San Diego when his sons were growing up. He enjoyed volunteering at Reign of Hope when he and Marilyn first moved to Hutchinson. A highlight of his life was going on Kansas Honor Flight #70. A Hutchinson resident since 1999, Clinton was a member of American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68 and attended Salt City Cowboy Church.

On November 24, 1962, he married Marilyn Ann Markley, in Salina. They shared nearly 64 years of marriage.

Clinton is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; sons, Mark Brown of Chula Vista, CA, James Brown of Hutchinson; brother, Richard and Marlene Brown of Hutchinson; and other extended family members.

Clinton was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place and graveside services are planned for Bennington Cemetery and Naval Air Station Miramar, San Deigo, CA, both at later dates.
