Evelyn F. “Mickey” Griffith, 99, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Pine Village, Moundridge. 

Mickey was born on November 19, 1924, in Clovis, NM, the daughter of Ernest Frank and Ruby Pearl (Glandon) Weaver.  In 1942, she graduated from Haxtun High School in Colorado and continued her education at McPherson College.  On August 18, 1946, Mickey was united in marriage to D.O. Minns, Jr. in Grand Junction, CO.  This union was blessed with three children, Garold, Ron, and Julie.  D.O. passed away on June 9, 1966.  She married Jack Griffith on February 2, 1968. They later divorced.

In her earlier years, Mickey worked for Raleigh’s Drug Store and was a secretary for U.S.D. 418.  She retired in 1992 from McPherson Bank & Trust/Bank IV where she was an administrative assistant.  Following retirement, she worked in food service for the school district.

She was a member of the McPherson Hospital Auxiliary and Futurama Study Club. 

Survivors include three children, Garold (Nancy) Minns of Bel Aire, KS, Ron (Lynette) Minns of McPherson, KS, and Julie (Wayne) Morrow of Wichita, KS; seven grandchildren, Laura (Eric) Souther, JulieAnn (Paul) Stover, Christopher (Yen) Minns, Christy Minns, Lindsay (Shane) Heltzen, Tessa (Garrett) Konen, and Dennan Morrow; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mickey was preceded in death by her parents and step-mother, Nellie Weaver who helped raise Mickey following Ruby’s death, and brother & sister-in-law, Kenneth & Dee Weaver.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.  The final resting place will be in McPherson Cemetery.
