HUTCHINSON, Kan. — HEELO Inc. CEO and founder Shontina Tipton announced a fundraiser April 11 for the 2023 Juneteenth events.
That fundraiser will be at Spangles at 120 East 4th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. that evening.
Twenty percent of all food and drink sales and 100% of all counter donations will support this year's Juneteenth activities through HEELO Inc.
In 2022, the Juneteenth pancake feed served 150 community members and their families, the car show had 20 entrants and raised $350 for the Edward L. 'Eddie' Tipton Minority Scholarship Endowment at HutchCC.
Also, there was a blood drive, a movie, a domino and spades tournament and music by the George Sander Band.
If you would like to donate, but are unable to go to Spangles on the evening of April 11th, you can mail donations to HEELO, Inc. at 23 East First, Suite 9, Hutchinson, KS 67501, or call Tipton for more information at (620) 833-4244 or email [email protected].
